Yuri Lowenthal Confirms the Existence of Persona 4 Remake

In March, the company Atlus registered a new domain P4Re.jp, suggesting an imminent announcement regarding a remake of Persona 4. For reference, a similar scenario unfolded in March 2023 when gamers discovered the domain P3Re.jp, which eventually led to the official unveiling of Persona 3 Reload at the Xbox Games Showcase a few months later. Since then, Atlus staff have remained tight-lipped about the rumored Persona 4 remake, but it seems the existence of the title was prematurely hinted at by actor Yuri Lowenthal.

Fans of the original Persona 4 recognize Lowenthal for his role as Yosuke Hanamura, one of the protagonist’s close friends and allies. Once rumors about the remake began circulating, the actor was repeatedly asked if he had any information, and today he shared the following message on his social media:

Yuri Lowenthal

This unexpected statement caught many online users off guard, with some humorously speculating that the actor was so disappointed by not being cast that he “accidentally” let something slip.

It’s worth noting that Lowenthal’s refusal to reprise his role as Yosuke doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t appear in the remake at all. For example, in the original Persona 3, he lent his voice to the protagonist, though in Persona 3 Reload, he has been given a minor role as Yukari’s father.

Regardless, an official announcement for the Persona 4 remake has yet to be made, so gamers will have to wait for upcoming summer presentations.
