YouTube Introduces Feature to Help Creators Place Ads More Effectively in Videos

YouTube is making it easier to integrate ads into the middle of videos. The platform has introduced a feature that will alert creators if their ads are placed inappropriately, such as in the middle of a sentence. Content creators will be able to utilize an automatic ad placement tool that identifies «natural breaks» like pauses and transitions.

«We are enhancing the quality of mid-roll ads, which means we will display more ads at natural stopping points, such as pauses and transitions. This way, viewers will encounter fewer disruptive ads, like those placed in the middle of sentences,» YouTube stated, according to a report by Neowin.

This feature is set to be available to all users starting May 12, 2025. It is noted that this change will not affect those creators who already automatically place their ads mid-roll. However, for those who do this manually, YouTube will indicate whether their ad placement disrupts the natural flow of the video. Creators will have the option to adjust poorly placed ads; otherwise, YouTube warns that they may lose out on advertising revenue.

Earlier, it was reported that Google is preparing to launch a more affordable subscription option — YouTube Premium Lite. This plan will offer access to a library of podcasts and educational videos without ads. YouTube is expected to roll out this new subscription in the United States, Australia, Germany, and Thailand soon.
