Walmart внедрит криптовалютную торговлю в мобильное приложение OnePay Translation: Walmart to Integrate Cryptocurrency Trading into OnePay Mobile App

The world’s largest retail chain, Walmart, is set to incorporate Bitcoin and Ethereum transactions into its OnePay mobile application. This news was reported by CNBC.

Cryptocurrency operations will be integrated into the platform’s existing financial interface with the assistance of the startup Zerohash. The full rollout is scheduled for late 2025, with gradual implementation beginning in select U.S. states.

Users will be able to deposit cryptocurrency, which will be automatically converted into fiat currency for use when making purchases in stores.

OnePay is a fintech firm launched by Walmart in collaboration with venture capital company Ribbit Capital in 2021. According to sources, the company aims to develop a «super app,» and the integration of cryptocurrencies is one of the initial steps in this direction.

A number of major companies have already integrated cryptocurrencies into their services. A notable example is the payment giant PayPal, which introduced digital assets back in 2020, and in 2023 even launched its own stablecoin, PYUSD.

In mid-September of this year, the company also announced the launch of a P2P platform that will support Bitcoin, Ethereum, and PayPal’s «stablecoin.»

Additionally, it was recently reported that the Samsung Corporation will enable Galaxy smartphone users to purchase cryptocurrency directly through an embedded wallet, thanks to a partnership with the exchange Coinbase.
