«Krasnodar is the football capital of Russia. The weather is nice there. At this moment, Krasnodar holds the first position, while Moscow and St. Petersburg have not reached their level yet. Perhaps in a week or two, everything will change,» Bystrov’s words were cited by Sport24.

After 21 rounds of the current season of the Russian Premier League, Krasnodar occupies the top spot in the standings with 46 points. Spartak Moscow is in second place with 43 points, while Zenit St. Petersburg rounds out the top three, also with 43 points. The current titleholders are the blue-white-blue team. Zenit has claimed the Russian Premier League title six times in the past six years and has never lost the championship race under head coach Sergey Semak, who has been in charge since 2018.
