Vitaliy Papazovs Departure: A Major Loss for the Super League

33-year-old diagonal player Vitaly Papazov, who played for Gazprom-Yugra last season, announced in his Telegram channel that he will not be part of a team in the Russian Superleague for the upcoming season.

«We never reached an agreement with Yaroslavl, even though insiders had suggested that I was signed there a month ago.

During my six years in the Superleague, I never truly understood what teams are looking for and how players get signed… It remains a complete mystery to me. However, I am at peace; my conscience is clear, as I gave my all, and I am grateful to the league for the wonderful experience.

What did I lack to stay in the Superleague? I’m curious about that myself… Perhaps I didn’t fit the image, or maybe I was deemed too attractive… Naturally, if an opportunity arises to come back, I would take it… But this year, there was no place for me, which I consider a significant loss for the league…» Papazov shared in his Telegram channel.

To remind, throughout his career, Papazov has played for Nova, Belogorye, Yugra-Samotlor, and Kuzbass.
