Unleashing Hell: Painkiller Reboot Reveals Devastating Arsenal in New Trailer

The iconic series  Painkiller is set to make a comeback. 3D Realms and Saber have unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming  reimagining of the classic shooter. The video showcases a range of seven deadly weapons designed to turn hordes of demons into a bloody mess.

The spotlight is on refreshed versions of familiar firearms, including the Electrodriver, which launches ricocheting shurikens, and the Stakegun, capable of piercing enemies with stakes from a distance. Additionally, there’s a Shotgun for close encounters, a rapid-fire SMG, an accurate Handcannon, an explosive Rocket Launcher, and the Painkiller itself—a versatile weapon featuring a hook that tears enemies apart while replenishing ammo.

Each weapon comes equipped with both primary and secondary firing modes, as well as elemental effects—fire, ice, electricity, or kinetic energy.

The shooter will unfold in the dark, gothic environments of Purgatory, where players can choose from one of the four champions—each possessing unique bonuses and abilities—to battle against demons and the titanic being of the fallen angel Azazel. Cooperative gameplay for up to three players and an offline mode have been confirmed.

Painkiller is set to launch this fall on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
