Ukraine Launches Groundbreaking AI and Blockchain Accelerator Program

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has officially launched a Sandbox aimed at testing blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies, as announced on the department’s Telegram channel.

This Sandbox serves as the «first governmental space» where «startups can develop along a personalized path, evolving from small projects into the next Ukrainian unicorns.» Teams involved will have access to guidance from legal professionals, business analysts, and technical specialists.

The initiative is designed to bolster the public sector and the nation’s economy while also helping shape legislation concerning AI and Web3, taking into account the insights and feedback from emerging companies.

The Sandbox will operate as a pilot project under the Ukrainian Startup Fund until the end of 2026. Subsequently, the ministry plans to evaluate the program’s effectiveness and establish a permanent support mechanism for innovation.

It’s worth noting that in May, the cryptocurrency wallet Trustee Plus ceased the registration of new users residing in Ukraine due to regulatory uncertainties.

Previously, the office of President Volodymyr Zelensky had also halted the consideration of a draft law regulating cryptocurrencies in the country.
