Ukraine Labels Russias Attack on Military Hospital a War Crime Amid Ongoing Conflict

On Saturday, Ukraine accused Russia of committing a «war crime» during a large-scale assault on Kharkiv, which included attacks on a military hospital, injuring medical staff receiving treatment there.

The Ukrainian military reported, «The hospital structure and adjacent residential buildings sustained damage from a Shahed drone.»

«Preliminary information indicates there are casualties among the military personnel receiving care at the facility,» they stated.

Typically, Kyiv refrains from disclosing details about military losses and did not specify the number of injured soldiers.

Ukraine charged Russia with committing a «war crime» and «violating international humanitarian law.»

The Ukrainian Emergency Services reported that the «significant attack» on the northeastern city also resulted in damage to residential and office structures.

Governor Oleg Synegubov reported two fatalities: a 67-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman, with an additional 25 individuals, including children, reported injured.

These latest fatal assaults on Kharkiv come as the U.S. administration under President Donald Trump seeks a rapid conclusion to the ongoing war, engaging in discussions with both Russia and Ukraine.

Moscow has dismissed a joint proposal from the U.S. and Ukraine for an unconditional ceasefire, while Ukraine has accused Russia of prolonging negotiations without any intention to cease hostilities.

Kyiv claims that a ceasefire agreement intended to stop attacks in the Black Sea region began last week, but the Kremlin stated that the agreement will only be enacted after the lifting of restrictions affecting its agricultural sector.
