TRON готовится к революции: комиссионные сборы сокращаются на 60% для стимулирования транзакций Translation: TRON Prepares for Revolution: Fees Cut by 60% to Stimulate Transactions

On August 29, voting concluded on a proposal to reduce transaction fees on the TRON network by 60%. The majority of community participants expressed support for the initiative, as stated by Justin Sun.

«In the short term, this will negatively impact the blockchain’s profitability,» he emphasized.

Sun further noted that the fee reduction will attract a larger user base and increase transaction volumes. He mentioned that the TRON community will now conduct a quarterly dynamic review of transaction fees.

«When setting fees, factors such as fluctuations in TRX price, network activity levels, and growth rates will be considered, ensuring a balance between profitability and TRON’s competitiveness,» wrote the project founder.

In June, the transaction fees on the network spiked to an annual high of $7.8, prompting users to seek alternatives.

At the same time, the launch of Plasma—a blockchain by Bitfinex for free USDT transfers—placed additional pressure on TRON.

The native token, TRX, used for paying fees, did not respond to this news. Over the past day, its price fell by 3.6%.

At the time of writing, the asset is trading at $0.33.

Recall that in mid-August, Sun took legal action against Bloomberg.
