Tragic Ukrainian Drone Strike Claims Life of Child in Belgorod Village

A drone strike carried out by Ukraine in the village of Borisovka, located in the southwestern Belgorod region, resulted in the death of a child and injuries to two others, according to the regional governor’s statement on Thursday.

Officials reported that the drone targeted an apartment complex early Thursday, leading to injuries for three individuals, including a two-year-old boy.

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov disclosed that the deceased child was the grandson of an elderly woman who was also hurt in the incident. The third victim was a man who happened to be in his apartment during the strike.

All three victims were promptly transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately, the child succumbed to his injuries later on.

“He was in extremely critical condition, and the medical team did everything possible,” Gladkov shared on Telegram. “Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save him.”

The Belgorod region was among the multiple locations in Russia affected by a series of Ukrainian drone assaults from Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Local authorities reported several injuries and damage to buildings in Belgorod, while the Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted over 40 Ukrainian drones in the border region.

In a related development, Ukrainian officials indicated that Russian strikes throughout Ukraine in the last 24 hours have resulted in at least three fatalities and left 37 others injured.
