T-Bank Unveils Revamped Scientific Masters Program at MIPT

T-Bank is relaunching its scientific master’s program at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). The updated program focuses on research in artificial intelligence and computer science.

The aim of the program is to offer students the opportunity to grow in the academic field. It is suitable for individuals with a solid technical background who want to tackle practical problems using scientific methods.

The collaboration between T-Bank and MIPT began in 2018 with the launch of an industrial master’s program in three areas: backend development with Scala, analytics, and machine learning. Students worked at T-Bank while completing projects based on real work tasks. Later, a scientific laboratory was established at MIPT, and a bachelor’s program in relevant disciplines was introduced. Currently, the company continues to support the bachelor’s program, provides tasks for students, and participates in university events. In 2025, a new scientific program will replace the industrial master’s program.

The master’s program spans two years and includes both academic courses and practical sessions led by industry professionals. The instructors comprise T-Bank employees, academics, and internationally recognized scientists. The training is divided into two main areas: artificial intelligence and computer science.

In the «Artificial Intelligence» track, students will study:

— Deep Learning
— Basics of Statistics
— Computer Vision
— Advanced Deep Learning
— Recommender Systems
— Machine Learning System Design
— Natural Language Processing (NLP)

In the «Computer Science» track, students will cover:

— Fundamentals of Development
— Databases
— Advanced Algorithms
— Industrial Development
— Computer Networks
— Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
— System Design
— and additional topics.

Lectures are conducted at MIPT and T-Bank’s headquarters in Moscow, with online participation available.

Students start working in the T-Lab research laboratory from day one, receiving a salary from MIPT while tackling tasks based on T-Bank’s data. Their results may be utilized for publications and presentations at conferences such as ICML, ACL, and ICIP.

Upon completing the master’s program, graduates receive a diploma from MIPT. They will also obtain recommendations from T-Bank experts and the opportunity to advance their careers within the company. Top candidates may be interviewed for positions in research departments.

To apply, candidates must go through the selection process at the T-Bank department and submit their documents to MIPT. The admission procedure and exams occur simultaneously. Further details can be found on the MIPT and T-Bank websites.

Igor Maslov, Vice President of T-Bank, emphasized that T-Technologies and T-Bank aim to advance science and prepare future researchers. Supporting universities and launching collaborative projects are integral to this mission, Maslov explained.
