Suno v5: Революция в создании музыки с новым уровнем контроля и выразительности Translation: Suno v5: A Revolution in Music Creation with New Levels of Control and Expressiveness

The team behind the AI music project Suno has unveiled version 5 of its music generation model. This update is available in beta for Pro and Premier subscribers.

In the official announcement, the developers stated that version 5 delivers «a more immersive sound, authentic vocals, and unprecedented creative control.» They claim that this is the third consecutive model that surpasses third-party solutions and is «the best to date.»

*“With the release of Suno v5, everything changes. This breakthrough is not just about creating better songs. V5 serves as the intelligent foundation for our most advanced tools that will transform the music creation process,”* read the statement.

The new version also features enhancements in genre recognition and blending. Users have greater flexibility when customizing their compositions.

Early listeners have already shared tracks created with Suno v5 and have praised the quality of the generated music.

The new model can be tested on the Suno website, with a monthly subscription priced at $10.

One of the main distinguishing aspects of the new version, according to the developers, is the expression of vocalists and the accurate placement of word stresses. They noted that the vocal quality difference between v5 and v3 is a «colossal gap.»

*“In the fifth version, it’s no longer necessary to spell out a word as it is written for Suno to pronounce it correctly. I find it visually pleasing when the word is immediately written correctly in the text,”* explained Vsevolod.

Another significant improvement is the handling of metatags. Users can now attach them to entire sections of the song instead of placing them before each line, which saves time.

Progress in the instrumental aspects is less pronounced. According to the musician, the quality of electric guitars in Suno v5 has become «a bit cleaner,» but they still sound «muddy and merge together.» Acoustic guitars, ambient elements, and drum tracks have not raised complaints since version 4. The model continues to excel in electronic music, its «native environment.»

Vsevolod mentioned that he is looking forward to the launch of the Studio feature for full rearrangement of tracks within the service.

The musician believes that achieving a full blend of styles in Suno is still not possible. He explained that while the results may satisfy when listened to through basic headphones, flaws become evident on high-quality equipment.

*“If you listen to music on AirPods, you might be pleased after one listen. But if you use Marshall speakers, it will start to hurt your ears,”* he added.

The model handles closely related genres like nu-metal and alternative rock well. However, attempts to combine contrasting styles, such as «Italian opera and California trap,» result in a «muddy» sound, as the neural network has yet to grasp this, Vsevolod concluded.
