Solana Staker Reaps Over $153 Million in Profits After Four Years of Commitment

An investor known as a «Solana whale» has begun to realize profits after four years of staking, as reported by Lookonchain analysts.

The individual staked nearly one million SOL in 2021 when the coin was valued around $27, totaling an investment of approximately $27 million.

Confidence in the asset, along with its relatively high yield rate, boosted the holder’s stash to 1.29 million SOL. With the price of Solana surpassing $140, the total worth of the investor’s holdings reached $180 million.

On April 22, the whale unlocked 100,000 SOL (approximately $14 million) and transferred it to Binance.

The investor still has 1.19 million SOL locked up, valued at about $166 million. Lookonchain calculated the overall profit to be $153 million.

In the last 24 hours, the price of the «people’s cryptocurrency» increased by 4.3%, and over the course of a week, it rose by 10.6%, according to CoinGecko.

It is worth noting that on April 21, the amount of Solana staked became equivalent to that of Ethereum.

In February, VanEck projected that the price of SOL could reach $520 by the end of 2025.
