The Solana Mobile team has unveiled its native ecosystem token, SKR. The launch of the asset and the initiation of staking are set for January 21, 2026.

SKR will serve as a governance tool for the platform and facilitate the distribution of rewards among developers, users, and partners. The total issuance will amount to 10 billion coins.

Project tokenomics:

Alongside the token launch, developers will introduce a new role called «Guardians.» These operators will be responsible for the platform’s security, employing TEEPIN architecture. They will also verify device authenticity, approve applications in the dApp Store, and ensure adherence to community guidelines.

This strategy aims to decentralize moderation and eliminate the monopolistic control often seen in traditional platforms. The first «Guardians» will include Anza, DoubleZero, Triton, Helius, and Jito.

SKR holders will have the option to delegate their tokens to Guardians, which will help secure the network while earning rewards. The withdrawal period from staking will last two eras (two days).

Solana Mobile also highlighted the Seeker smartphone. Owners of this device will gain access to exclusive applications and rewards in SKR. Currently, over 150,000 devices are already connected to the ecosystem.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that in December, the Solana Foundation partnered with Project Eleven to prepare the network for the potential challenges posed by quantum computers.
