SoftBank Aims to Launch $1 Trillion AI and Robotics Industrial Complex in Arizona

Just a few months after announcing its participation in the $500 billion project known as Stargate AI, which, according to rumors, SoftBank intends to invest $19 billion in, the Japanese investment conglomerate is reportedly aiming to launch its largest AI initiative yet.

The company is looking to collaborate with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) on a $1 trillion industrial hub in Arizona dedicated to artificial intelligence and robotics, as stated in a Bloomberg report citing sources.

The venture, dubbed Project Crystal Land, appears to be in the very early stages of development. Despite SoftBank’s eagerness to partner with TSMC on the initiative, Bloomberg reports that it remains unclear what role TSMC will play, or if it is even interested in cooperating with SoftBank, given that TSMC already has its own AI infrastructure projects in Arizona.

SoftBank has declined to comment.
