Skywind Unveils 20 Minutes of Gameplay and Progress Update

The fan project **Skywind**, which aims to recreate the world of [The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind](https://www.elderscrolls.com/morrowind) using the engine of [Skyrim](https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/skyrim), has released a new 20-minute [gameplay demonstration](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wWpMR5mo-w&ab_channel=TESRSkywind).

The latest video showcases a quest involving the rescue of Jonesis Dalomax, a knight of the Imperial Legion, from a cult devoted to Malacath that has taken refuge in Daedric ruins.

The developers also introduced new underwater combat mechanics, allowing players to fight and cast spells while submerged, a feature that was not present in the original **Skyrim**. Additionally, classic spells like «Mark» and «Recall» will return in **Skywind**.

The team reports that the main storyline and 2D art have been completed, creature models are nearly finished, and the spell system and interface are in the final stages of development. Approximately 60% of the locations have been internally developed. Iconic areas such as Red Mountain, Ashlands, and the Zafirbel Bay are still to be realized.

One of the developers, known as Egrets, expressed appreciation for **Bethesda** in an interview with [PCGamesN](https://www.pcgamesn.com/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/skywind-gameplay-demo-underwater-combat) for its contributions to the legacy of the earlier **TES** games.

Egrets also serves as a community manager for **Skywind**.

**Skywind** will be offered for free on PC, but it requires both **Skyrim: Special Edition** and the original **The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind**. While there is no specific release date yet, the developers are actively seeking volunteers. The list of available localizations has yet to be announced, but the team hopes to translate the game into multiple languages beyond English, with the help of volunteers. More information and an opportunity to join the team can be found on the [project’s website](https://tesrskywind.com/).
