Semak Reflects on Zenits Dominant Back-to-Back Victories Over Vojvodina

The head coach of St. Petersburg’s Zenit, **Sergei Semak**, shared his thoughts on the two-match encounter with the Serbian team, Vojvodina. Both matches ended in victories for the blue-white-blue team: 7-1 on July 13 and 2-0 on July 14.

«The most important thing is that everyone is alive and healthy. Most of the players played the full 90 minutes in both yesterday and today’s games. Today’s match was a bit more challenging due to the weather conditions. We didn’t perform as well in the first half, but the second half was an improvement. It was evident that the guys were tired towards the end, but overall the intensity level was good. There was a lot of mistakes due to fatigue, but that’s something we have to endure, as some players were unable to participate in various training camps for one reason or another, making it a bit tougher for them physically,» said Semak, as reported by Zenit’s official website.

Zenit’s first official match of the 2025/2026 season will be against Rostov in the opening round of the Russian Premier League. The game is scheduled for Sunday, July 20.
