Samurai Tactical RPG Shadow of the Road Set for Open Alpha Launch on March 25th

The Polish studio **Another Angle Games**, with the support of the publisher **Owlcat Games**, has **announced** the open alpha testing for their tactical role-playing game, **Shadow of the Road**. The tests will commence on March 25 on **Steam**, and gamers interested in participating can simply request access.

In **Shadow of the Road**, players will find themselves in an alternate version of Japan in the year 1898, where the conflict between the Tokugawa shogunate and Emperor Meiji has erupted into an all-out war between magic and technology. The imperial army utilizes steam machines provided by the East Nippon Company, while the shoguns remain traditionalists, relying on ancient spiritual magic.

Amidst this conflict, the shogun’s head spy has assigned a crucial mission to two ronin—Satoru and Akira. The heroes must protect a mysterious child harboring a powerful yet uncontrollable magic at all costs. Thus, the protagonists embark on a journey across Japan, battling both ordinary foes and machines. In terms of gameplay, the developers offer turn-based combat focused on strategy.

**Shadow of the Road** is currently only announced for PC, available on **Steam**, **GOG**, and **Epic Games Store**, featuring Russian text localization. The release date has yet to be revealed.
