Sam Bennetts New Contract with Florida Panthers Could Earn Him $7.5 Million Annually

The annual salary of forward Sam Bennett from the Florida Panthers under his new deal with the team could reach $7.5 million, as reported by Florida Hockey Now.

According to the source, Bennett would likely have earned more on the market with a team that has a larger salary cap space, potentially at least double his current salary. However, the player is keen on remaining with the Panthers.

To recall, Bennett’s previous contract with the team was for four years, with an annual salary of $4.425 million. His current contract with the Panthers is set to expire at the end of June, and on July 1, he will become an unrestricted free agent.

In the last season, Bennett participated in 76 NHL regular-season games, recording 51 points (25 goals and 26 assists). In the playoffs, he scored 22 points (15 goals and 7 assists) over 23 games.
