Russian Defense Ministry Claims Major Success Against Ukrainian Drones, Over 100 Destroyed in Recent Attacks

On Friday, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that its air defense systems had successfully neutralized 105 Ukrainian drones throughout the nation between Thursday night and Friday morning.

The majority of these drones were intercepted in areas near the Ukrainian border in western and southern Russia, specifically in regions such as Bryansk, Rostov, Krasnodar, Kursk, Voronezh, and Belgorod. In Belgorod, authorities indicated that at least four individuals sustained injuries from drone strikes within the last 24 hours.

In Krasnodar city, debris from a drone fell on a train station, causing damage to a passenger car and resulting in injuries to two people, according to local officials. There were also reports of minor damage to residential buildings in the vicinity.

Russian Railways announced that the incident in Krasnodar, along with damage to rail infrastructure in the adjoining Rostov region caused by drones, led to considerable disruptions, resulting in delays for multiple trains.

Authorities in the Stavropol region claimed that this was the largest drone attack in their area since the onset of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, reporting that 37 drones were brought down. Fortunately, there were no reports of casualties.

The Defense Ministry verified that five drones had been intercepted over the Stavropol region.

Meanwhile, airports in southern Russia experienced temporary flight restrictions, including in the Black Sea resort city of Sochi, where numerous flights were delayed.
