Russia Considers Launching an AI Assistant to Streamline Everyday Tasks

According to information from TASS, citing an interview with Russia’s Minister of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, the Ministry is exploring the potential creation of an AI agent designed to assist individuals in addressing various challenges.

«It is clear that AI agents that can offer a wider range of services will prevail. […] This represents a completely new niche. I believe we are actively moving in this direction now. Services will also play a significant role here. We are currently considering how to develop this AI agent or assistant in a broad sense to support people,» stated the Minister.

As an example, Shadaev mentioned the process of scheduling a doctor’s appointment, which currently involves several separate steps—choosing a time slot, selecting a doctor, and picking a date. He envisions an AI agent that, through natural dialogue with users, could significantly streamline and simplify this process.

Shadaev reminded that in Russia, there are already both large and small models addressing social issues, which could be utilized to create assistants that remind users of meetings and tasks.

«I believe this represents a completely new trend. The interaction between humans and the platform will evolve in a different way,» the Minister concluded.
