Russell Reflects on Qualifying Success and the Challenge Ahead Against Piastri

The Mercedes driver and British Formula 1 racer, **[George Russell](#)**, shared his thoughts on the results of the Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying, where he secured second place, just behind **Oscar Piastri** from the McLaren team.

«If someone had told us we would finish second, we would have accepted it without hesitation. Congrats to Oscar on an impressive lap. As night fell and the track cooled, we kept getting faster. Second place gives us a solid chance for tomorrow’s race, but we need to stay realistic,» Russell stated, as reported by Sky Sports.

It’s worth noting that after the first three Grand Prix events, McLaren is leading the Constructors’ Championship with a total of 111 points, while Mercedes follows in second place with only 75 points.
