Rostecs Roselectronics Unveils New Miniature Sensors for Enhanced Medical and Navigation Equipment

The holding company «Roselectronica,» which is part of the state corporation «Rostec,» has introduced a new miniature reed switch designed for surface mounting on printed circuit boards. This device is intended for use in medical and navigational technologies, as well as in industrial equipment. The new solution aims to make end products lighter, more compact, and more cost-effective.

The new SMD reed switch, MK-07 101S, has been developed by specialists at the Ryazan Plant of Metal-Ceramic Devices (RZMCD). According to Roselectronica, this is the only facility in Russia manufacturing such devices. The reed switch is designed without a plastic casing, which enhances its size and weight characteristics. Its construction features a glass bulb that is 7 mm long.

The device operates in temperatures ranging from -60 to +125 degrees Celsius, withstands humidity levels of up to 98%, and can endure mechanical shocks of up to 150g. The developers state that the new form factor increases mounting density, reduces assembly time, and provides an optimal balance between cost and quality.

Sergey Maximov, the general director of RZMCD, noted that the plant supplies reed switches to both domestic and international manufacturers. He emphasized that in light of sanctions, the company is developing and implementing new products with lower costs and broader applications. The new reed switch is expected to be utilized in miniaturized products and solutions that require increased mounting density.
