Remco Evenepoel Exits Tour de France During Challenging 14th Stage

Two-time Olympic champion and Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel from Soudal Quick-Step has withdrawn from the 2025 Tour de France during the 14th stage. While climbing the Col du Tourmalet with 102 kilometers remaining, the Belgian fell behind the peloton and chose to abandon the race. At the time of his departure, Evenepoel was in third place in the overall standings and was wearing the white jersey as the best young rider.

This year, Remco secured victory in the fifth stage of the Tour de France, completing it in a time of 36:42. Last year, he finished third in the general classification.

The 2025 Tour de France is taking place from July 5 to July 27. After the 13th stage, Slovenian rider Tadej Pogačar is leading the overall classification.
