Release of Musical RPG Fretless: The Wrath of Riffson Pushed to Summer 2025 for Quality Enhancement

The team at Ritual Studios has announced that the launch of their role-playing game  Fretless: The Wrath of Riffson has been postponed. During the Six One Indie Showcase livestream, the studio also revealed a new trailer.

Previously, the developers intended to launch Fretless: The Wrath of Riffson at the end of May, but they have now shifted the release date to summer 2025. The usual explanation applies— the team requires additional time to polish the game and elevate it to a quality and creative level that fully showcases its potential. “We believe that this delay will ultimately lead to a significantly improved player experience,” the message from Ritual Studios states.

To remind everyone, Fretless: The Wrath of Riffson is a pixel art RPG featuring turn-based battles. The protagonist, named Rob, strives to restore harmony to a world immersed in corrupted music. He will harness the power of legendary instruments to confront the villainous Rick Riffson and his henchmen.

Fretless: The Wrath of Riffson is set to be released on Steam with a Russian language translation. A demo version is currently available on the Valve store.
