Rakitic Takes on Technical Director Role at Hajduk After Barcelona Career

Former FC Barcelona and Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitić has been appointed as the technical director of Hajduk Split, the club where he ended his football career in July 2025. The announcement regarding the 37-year-old ex-footballer was made on the official website of the Croatian team.

It’s worth noting that Rakitić has previously played for clubs such as Al-Shabab, Sevilla, Barcelona, and Basel. During his international career, he has made 106 appearances and scored 15 goals for the Croatian national team.

“I’m very excited to continue my journey with Hajduk, this time off the field as the technical director. My desire to win and learn remains unchanged! Thank you to the club for their trust,” Rakitić commented on his appointment via the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

Additionally, Hajduk finished last season in third place in the Croatian league, collecting 63 points over 36 matches. Rakitić participated in 35 games during the tournament, scoring two goals and providing five assists to his teammates.
