Potential Casting for Ryu and Ken in the New Street Fighter Adaptation Revealed

The adaptation of Street Fighter by Legendary Pictures is taking shape: according to Nexus Point News, Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo are in talks to portray Ryu and Ken, respectively. Allegedly, negotiations are already underway.

Koji, known for his role in the series Warrior and the film Snake Eyes, is being considered for the part of Ryu, the stoic martial arts master who has dedicated his life to perfecting the Ansatsuken technique.

Centineo, recognized for his appearances in Black Adam and the series The Recruit, might take on the role of Ken Masters, the son of a wealthy tycoon, who is hot-headed and charismatic, having trained alongside his best friend Ryu since childhood.

It’s worth mentioning that the fighting game series has already seen two full-length adaptations.

The new project has already encountered setbacks, including the removal of its 2026 release date and changes in directors. Recently, directing duo the Philippou brothers stepped down, and Kitao Sakurai, known for the series Metal Litter, has taken their place. The script is being penned by Dalan Musson, who previously worked on Captain America: New World. Legendary Pictures is collaborating with Capcom on the film, which will be distributed by Sony Pictures.
