PCGH.de Unveils 400 Images of Neglected Dusty PCs, Highlighting the Importance of Regular Maintenance

The German site PCGH.de has published a gallery featuring 400 images of computers that have gone a long time without maintenance or cleaning. The authors of the portal aimed to remind readers about the importance of taking care of their PCs.

«Please note: Many of the extremely dirty computers do not belong to community members but were simply handed over to them for troubleshooting, upgrading, or cleaning and were photographed during that process,» the gallery’s description states.

A thread featuring such images has been present on the PCGH.de forum since 2012. Among the showcased items, one can find old coolers, motherboards, and graphics cards, easily recognizable even under a thick layer of dust, like the be quiet! model.

The gallery also includes graphics cards from Gainward, systems based on Asus Maximum III Formula, and Abit Fatality FP-IN9 SLI.

This collection focuses on desktop PCs.

However, PCGH.de reminded readers that laptops are even more susceptible to dust accumulation and suffer more due to users often placing them on soft furniture and utilizing relatively small cooling systems. A collection dedicated to laptops may follow in the future.
