Ocenaudio 3.15 Released: A Free Cross-Platform Audio and Music Editor with Enhanced Features

The release of Ocenaudio 3.15 based on the Qt framework has been announced. This free, cross-platform audio and music editing software is now available for Windows (including a portable version), macOS, and Linux.

Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins and provides access to a variety of built-in effects and options, such as real-time effect previews, application of effects like equalization, amplification, and filtering, as well as customization of control elements.

To facilitate complex audio file editing, Ocenaudio includes a multi-selection feature. This allows you to select different sections of an audio file simultaneously, enabling you to listen to, edit, or apply effects to those segments. For instance, if you wish to normalize only the portions of an interview where the interviewee is speaking, you can simply select those parts and apply the effect.

There are no restrictions on the length or number of audio files that can be edited in Ocenaudio. The application employs an advanced memory management system, keeping files open without consuming PC memory unnecessarily. Even for files that are several hours long, typical editing functions like copying, cutting, or pasting are performed quickly on mid-range PCs.

Ocenaudio also features a spectrogram option that allows for high-resolution analysis of the spectral content of audio signals. Experienced users will be pleased to find that spectrogram settings are applied in real time.

Key updates and improvements in Ocenaudio 3.15 include:

— Support for new audio formats
— Exporting files to a specified destination
— New layouts in properties, new audio, and settings dialog boxes
— Ability to edit metadata across multiple files
— Option to apply the last effect edited
— Fixed issues with reading WAV files with incomplete headers (data size 0).
