Nvidia усиливает позиции в открытом исходном коде с новой линейкой ИИ-моделей Nemotron 3 Translation: Nvidia Strengthens Its Open Source Position with New Line of AI Models Nemotron 3

As part of its strategy to expand its presence in the open-source domain, Nvidia has acquired the company SchedMD and launched the Nemotron 3 series of AI models.

SchedMD is the creator of the widely-used workload management system Slurm, which was initially released in 2002. The company was founded eight years later by leading developers Morris Jette and Danny Auble, with Auble serving as CEO.

Nvidia has collaborated with SchedMD for over a decade and considers its technology to be critical infrastructure for generative AI.

Simultaneously, Jensen Huang’s company introduced the open neural network series Nemotron 3, touted as the «most efficient» for developing precise agents.

This range includes:

«Open innovation is at the heart of AI progress. With Nemotron, we are transforming cutting-edge artificial intelligence into a platform that provides developers with the transparency and efficiency needed to create large-scale agent systems,» Huang stated in a press release.

Recently, Nvidia has been working to strengthen its foothold in the open-source sector.

In December, the company announced Alpamayo-R1—a visual reasoning open language model designed for autonomous driving. This new tool is based on the «reasoning» Cosmos-Reason foundation.

In October, Huang declared that artificial intelligence has entered a «spiral of success.» He noted that significant advancements in neural networks lead to increased investments in the technology, further propelling the field.

It is worth mentioning that Nvidia’s revenue for the third quarter reached $57 billion, reflecting a 62% increase compared to the same period last year.
