Nakhushev: No Wow Factor from Pjanic at CSKA – His Best Years are Behind Him

Former defender of FC Krasnodar, **[Ruslan Nakhushev](https://www.example.com/tags/1620-ruslan-nakhushev/)**, shared his thoughts on the departure of Bosnian midfielder **Miralem Pjanic** from Moscow’s CSKA.

“There was no wow effect from Pjanic. He arrived at the twilight of his career. If he had moved five years ago—from Roma or Barcelona—it would have been a different story. Nevertheless, he set the pace and shaped the team’s play. It’s clear that his skills remain, but his prime years are behind him. I believe that if Nikolich had stayed, Miralem would have extended his contract as well. His footballing abilities were evident, but I wouldn’t say everything at CSKA revolved around him,” Nakhushev commented in an interview with Championship correspondent Alexander Ershov.

Miralem Pjanic joined CSKA as a free agent in September of last year. During the 2024/2025 season, the former Juventus and Barcelona player appeared in 25 matches for the army team in the Russian Premier League and the Fonbet Cup of Russia, contributing three assists. In the summer of 2025, Pjanic left CSKA after his contract expired.
