Meta анонсирует инновационные смарт-очки с интегрированным экраном и нейротехнологиями Translation: Meta announces innovative smart glasses with integrated display and neurotechnology

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the Meta Ray-Ban Display — the first pair of «smart glasses» featuring a built-in screen. Users can control them using hand gestures through a bracelet powered by neurotechnology.

This new device serves as a bridge between the Ray-Ban Meta and the experimental Orion augmented reality glasses. The latter can overlay 3D images onto a person’s field of view using a wireless computing module.

The Meta Neural Band bracelet operates on the principles of electromyography and is included with the Meta Ray-Ban Display.

«These glasses embody the classic style you expect from Ray-Ban, but they are also the first device of their kind featuring a high-resolution display and a fully functional Meta Neural Band,» Zuckerberg stated.

With this new gadget, users can watch videos on the screen or see and respond to text messages. The display does not obstruct view and disappears when not in use.

During the presentation, the Meta CEO experienced multiple unsuccessful attempts to call Meta’s CTO Andrew Bosworth.

«Well, you know… stuff happens,» he commented.

The glasses will be available for sale in the US starting September 30.

Additionally, Zuckerberg introduced the Oakley Meta Vanguard — smart glasses designed for athletes engaged in extreme sports like snowboarding or mountain biking. They feature a more dynamic design compared to the “traditional version” and come equipped with a button for taking photos and videos. The price is set at $499.

The device can operate for up to nine hours without a charge, captures video in 3K, and includes powerful speakers. It can connect to Garmin fitness watches to monitor heart rates using Meta AI. Pre-orders are now open.

Another new gadget is the updated second-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. They will retail for $379, compared to the $299 price of the 2023 model. They last twice as long on a single charge — up to eight hours — and feature an upgraded camera that records in 3K Ultra HD.

Zuckerberg announced Horizon TV — a service for watching series, sports events, and films through Quest VR headsets. Among Meta’s partners providing content for the application are Disney and Universal Pictures.

As a reminder, in July 2024, Zuckerberg stated that in the future, everyone will wear devices equipped with artificial intelligence.
