Media Reports: Remastered Oblivion Dominates Game Pass in 2025, Surpassing Avowed

The website TrueAchievements analyzed data from 3.1 million active Xbox accounts and reported on the most popular additions to the Game Pass catalog this year.

The journalist compared game engagement during their first week of release. The clear frontrunner was the remastered Oblivion, which attracted 59.9% more Game Pass subscribers than the previous winner, Avowed. When considering only the releases from April, the dominance of The Elder Scrolls IV becomes even more impressive, as the runner-up, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, had 153.4% fewer players.

At the same time, TrueAchievements emphasizes that the performance of Clair Obscur should not be underestimated. In April, the French JRPG surpassed its closest competitors— Crime Scene Cleaner and South of Midnight—by approximately 88%. Furthermore, «Expedition» ranks third in the top list for the first four months of 2025, trailing only behind the aforementioned Oblivion and Avowed.
