Kaspersky Lab Launches Free Online Course on Internet Safety and Cyber Hygiene

Kaspersky Lab has developed a free online course focused on cyber hygiene. The open course titled «Cyber Hygiene» is designed for a broad audience and addresses essential topics related to digital security. It consists of 16 brief lessons, each lasting 15 to 20 minutes. Participants will find valuable resources aimed at the safe use of digital services and protection against cybercriminals.

In short video segments, experts explain how to safeguard personal data, utilize messaging apps, email, social media, and other applications securely, as well as how to shop safely online. Learners will gain the skills to identify phone scams, phishing attacks, and various cyber threats. One lesson is specifically devoted to online risks associated with children.

In 2024, Kaspersky’s solutions detected an average of 467,000 new malware files daily, marking a 14% increase compared to 2023. Data from Kaspersky Who Calls shows that the percentage of Russian users receiving suspicious fraud calls from unknown numbers rose by 18% from 2023, reaching 61%.

According to the course creators, it is suitable for individuals of all skill levels and requires no prior IT knowledge. Participants can watch the lessons at their own pace. To reinforce learning, they will receive takeaway materials and cybersecurity tips at the end of each topic.
