Journalists Showcase Gameplay Footage of Gothic 1 Remake Demo Ahead of Steam Festival

Next week, on February 24, the «Games Must Be» festival will kick off on Steam, running until March 3. During this event, gamers will have the chance to try out demos for dozens of upcoming titles, including the much-anticipated Gothic 1 Remake. To celebrate the upcoming demo launch, various gaming publications have started sharing their gameplay recordings, including an official Russian voiceover.

This demo was previously showcased at last year’s Gamescom event in Cologne. The events of the demo take place before the main storyline of the game, featuring a different protagonist, a prisoner named Niras, who undertakes missions within the colony.

In the latest demonstrations, players can experience a small segment of gameplay, including battles with monsters at early levels of character development. Similar to the original Gothic, the combat system in the remake relies on directional strikes, and as players progress, their character will become more proficient with weapons.

According to the latest report from Embracer, the remake of the first Gothic is expected to be released by the end of the current financial year, which means by April. The game is planned for PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. The exact release date has yet to be announced.
