Innovative Chinese Startup Unveils Photon Matrix: A Laser-Based Mosquito Defense System

A device called the Photon Matrix has emerged on the Indiegogo platform. This mosquito defense system detects insects nearby and eliminates them using a laser beam.

According to its developers, the system identifies the insect and activates the laser upon detection. The Photon Matrix can recognize and destroy mosquitoes, gnats, and fruit flies that fly at speeds of up to 1 m/s. The Pro version of this device can also identify and target houseflies, particularly those flying at a slower pace.

«This prototype not only effectively eliminates mosquitoes using laser technology but also prioritizes safety,» state the creators of this gadget. The device is designed to cause no harm to humans, pets, or even birds that are at a distance.

The Photon Matrix can be powered through an outlet or an external battery. It is suitable for use both during the day and at night, and functions indoors as well as outdoors. When using it in a yard or garden, it’s advisable to position it in a way that prevents raindrops from contaminating the optical components.

The creators note that the Photon Matrix is still under development. They indicate that it is expected to be available for purchase in October of this year, with the starting price set at $470.
