Increasing Russian Drone Strikes in Kharkiv Leave 14 Injured, Including Four Children

Russian drone strikes that occurred overnight in the northeastern city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, resulted in injuries to 14 individuals, including four children, as reported by Ukrainian officials on Thursday.

This recent wave of attacks unfolded just one day after Russian assaults claimed the lives of three people and left approximately 60 others injured in Kharkiv, situated around 30 kilometers (18 miles) from the border with Russia.

«Throughout the night, the adversary targeted Kharkiv,» stated Ukraine’s State Emergency Service in an announcement. «A total of 14 people were injured, among them four children.»

Oleh Synehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv region, noted that the affected children include a 2-year-old boy and girls aged 12, 16, and 17.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov mentioned that the drone strikes occurred between 1:37 a.m. and 3:08 a.m., causing fires in both residential buildings and educational facilities. He further noted that debris landed «very close to playgrounds.»

In recent days, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine, coinciding with U.S.-led attempts to restart peace negotiations that have thus far not produced any significant progress.
