Henderson: The Inaugural Playtest for the New Battlefield Kicks Off This Friday

Insider **Tom Henderson** has disclosed the precise date for the initial playtest of the upcoming installment in the **Battlefield** series. According to the information received, the testing will commence this Friday, March 7, via the **Battlefield Labs** service.

**Henderson** pointed out that this inaugural test will last approximately two hours and will be limited to PC users. Participants have already received emails stating that the testing will take place in a «closed environment,» which means recording gameplay, streaming, and discussions with those not involved are strictly prohibited.

The **Battlefield Labs** service has been developed specifically to actively engage players in the evolution of the **Battlefield** series. This first test aims to «evaluate the functionality of core mechanics and concepts,» with plans to gradually showcase a wider array of features, including maps, vehicles, weapons, gadgets, balance, gameplay modes, and more in the future.

Hundreds of thousands of users have already registered for **Battlefield Labs**, although not all will have the opportunity to participate in the tests. Initially, the studio has selected just a couple of thousand lucky individuals from Europe and North America, but this number is expected to grow over time.

As for the game itself, its release is scheduled for the 2025 fiscal year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. For now, gamers can only await a full announcement.
