Henderson Claims Black Flag Remake Set for Release Before Next Major Assassins Creed Title

According to recent information from Tom Henderson, the next major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, Codename Hexe, may face delays. He mentioned that the remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and the multiplayer Project Invictus are set to launch on the Infinity platform before Hexe.

The postponement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows from November 2024 to February 2025 appears to have shifted Ubisoft’s entire schedule. Henderson noted that the Black Flag remake was initially expected in 2025, but it may now be pushed to 2026, while Hexe could be moved to 2027.

As for Project Invictus, insights from insider j0nathan in September suggest that it draws inspiration from Fall Guys, allowing up to 16 players in a single match to compete through multiple rounds featuring various challenges. Available modes will include “deathmatch” and “race,” with gameplay adopting an arcade style, meaning character attacks will have minimal impact on opponents. Additionally, fighters will have shields similar to those in Smash Bros.

Hexe presents a more intriguing premise. Henderson shared details nearly a year ago, stating that it is set in 16th-century Europe, focusing on witch hunts. The protagonist is rumored to be a girl named Elsa with supernatural abilities. Unlike the recent open-world entries, Hexe is expected to return to a more compact and linear structure reminiscent of the earlier games in the franchise.

Meanwhile, Shadows, available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the cloud service Amazon Luna with Russian text localization, has already reached a total audience of 3 million players.
