Head Coach Rotenberg Analyzes Team Mistake Leading to Gusevs Overtime Goal

After the defeat against Dynamo Moscow (1:2 OT), SKA head coach **Roman Rotenberg** explained the mistake his team made during forward **Nikita Gusev**’s goal.

«The overtime goal by Dynamo was created by Uil. Gusev took the shot, and Uil screened the goalie. We simply needed to move Uil out of the crease and box him out; then our goalie would have caught that puck. I don’t want to discuss the opposing players, as it’s not appropriate on my part to analyze any of their players.

I want to emphasize that our team gave 100% effort in this game. As for the opposing players, we will work on improving our game to prevent Gusev from getting those shots off. We need to ensure he doesn’t get the chance to shoot. But he shot from the blue line, and we just needed to clear that player from the crease. Uil is not the tallest player in the KHL. If we manage to move him out of the way, our goalie would have been able to make that save. These are the little details that matter. It’s the playoffs. We need to focus on refining those details,» said Rotenberg, as reported by **Serguei Emelyanov** from Championat.
