Googles Play Store to Unveil Enhanced Download Notification Interface

The Google Play Store app is set to receive a more detailed notification regarding download progress, as reported by Android Authority. This enhancement will allow users to monitor software installations and launch newly installed applications directly from the notification panel.

The updated download notification will still provide details about the three most recently downloaded apps and games. However, instead of a «Show More» button at the bottom, it will display information about additional apps and games installed recently. The download notification will include the icon and name of the software, the file size, and the download percentage. Once the download is complete, the notification will feature a “Recently Installed” label under the app’s name. In the current version (46.8.29-31), users can launch the newly installed app straight from the notifications panel.

It is likely that this represents the final version of the new download notification, and Google may begin rolling out the update with the upcoming Play Store updates, according to Android Authority.

Previously, the Google Play Store introduced a more user-friendly method for installing third-party apps. This new feature allows users to temporarily disable the Play Protect security option, which was noticed in version 42.2.19-31.
