Google запускает Personal Intelligence для Gemini: ИИ анализирует переписки и фотографии для персонализированных рекомендаций Translation: Google launches Personal Intelligence for Gemini: AI analyzes messages and photos for personalized recommendations.

Google has introduced a beta feature called Personal Intelligence for its Gemini app. This tool allows AI to access information from Gmail, Google Photos, search history, and YouTube, thereby enhancing the personalization of its responses.

Previously, the chatbot was capable of retrieving information from Google services, but it can now analyze this data for proactive assistance. For instance, the AI can correlate emails with viewed videos.

The company claims that Gemini automatically understands the context without needing explicit instructions on which app to search for answers.

By default, the Personal Intelligence feature is turned off and has to be activated manually. Even after activation, the algorithm will only utilize personal data when it deems it necessary to solve a task.

«Personal Intelligence offers two main advantages: reasoning based on complex sources and extracting specific details, such as from an email or photo to answer a question,» stated Josh Woodward, vice president of the Gemini app, Google Labs, and AI Studio.

He shared an example of being in line at a tire shop, unable to recall the size needed for his vehicle. Gemini suggested a all-season option after analyzing photos from a family trip stored in Google Photos. The chatbot also provided the car’s model number.

«I receive excellent recommendations for books, shows, clothing, and travel,» Woodward noted.

By analyzing data from Photos and Gmail, the system considered family interests and past travel history. Consequently, the AI devised a route avoiding «tourist traps,» suggesting an overnight train journey and board games for the trip.

Gemini has restrictions concerning sensitive topics. The chatbot won’t provide health advice but is open to discussing it if the user initiates the request.

Google also assures that the neural network does not learn from personal data. Instead, it relies on specific queries and the model’s responses.

Personal Intelligence is currently available to subscribers of Google AI Pro and AI Ultra plans in the U.S., with plans to expand its availability and introduce an option in the free tier later.

Additionally, Google has updated the Trends Explore page by integrating Gemini, which now automatically identifies and compares search trends.

This service, popular among journalists and researchers, aids in tracking interest in various topics across different regions and analyzing trends over time.

The new interface streamlines routine tasks: the AI sidebar autonomously matches current trends in the selected niche and provides suggestions for further inquiries.

In the revamped design, each query is highlighted with a unique color and icon. Google has also increased the number of elements available for comparison.

As a reminder, in January, Apple and Google entered into a long-term agreement to implement AI features in Apple services, including the updated Siri.
