Former Celtics Star Gordon Hayward Reflects on Injury Impacting Jayson Tatums Career Opportunities

Former NBA player **Gordon Hayward** expressed his belief that **Jayson Tatum’s** career might have taken a different path if not for Hayward’s injury after joining the Boston Celtics. Tatum was drafted by Boston as the third overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, while Hayward signed with the Celtics in July of that same year. In February 2017, he participated in the All-Star Game.

«I was playing in the All-Star Game and felt like I was at the peak of my career. We played the same position. You know, after I got injured, he started getting more touches. He had more chances, and sometimes that makes all the difference,» Hayward said during an appearance on FanDuel TV.

Hayward suffered a fractured tibia and ankle in October 2017.
