Ex-CSKA President: Joy of Winning the VTB United League is Exponentially Greater Without Euroleague

The vice-president of Moscow’s CSKA, Natalia Furaeva, commented on the team’s victory in the VTB United League for the 2024/2025 season.

«I’m just thrilled! Right now, without the Euroleague, the joy of winning the national championship is significantly greater. To be honest, we definitely weren’t the favorites. This isn’t just for show. It wasn’t only in this series that we were outsiders; that’s true for the entire championship, yet we fought hard and put in our best effort,» Furaeva told Match TV.

In the playoff finals, CSKA faced off against the regular-season champions from St. Petersburg, Zenit. The army team secured victory with a score of 4-2. In their decisive match on June 9, CSKA won 96-73.
