Ethereum Foundation создает Privacy Cluster для защиты конфиденциальности пользователей Translation: Ethereum Foundation Forms Privacy Cluster to Safeguard User Confidentiality

The non-profit organization Ethereum Foundation (EF) has assembled a team of 47 experts to enhance the privacy of the network’s base layer.

This group consists of leading researchers, engineers, and cryptographers from the ecosystem. The team will be led by blockchain specialist Igor Barinov.

The so-called Privacy Cluster will focus on creating solutions for confidential transactions and decentralized identification. Other key areas of work include:

The initiative will build upon the advancements made by the Privacy Stewards for Ethereum (PSE, formerly known as Privacy & Scaling Explorations). This group was established in 2018 and has since developed over 50 open-source projects, including the Semaphore protocol for anonymous signaling and MACI for private voting.

“Improving privacy in Ethereum is a significant responsibility. By enhancing it at all levels, we will protect users and create new opportunities for developers and institutions,” stated representatives of EF.

Recall that in September, the European Union proposed a bill titled «On Chat Control,» which could grant authorities unrestricted access to users’ communications.

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin criticized the initiative, arguing that it jeopardizes citizens’ right to privacy in digital communications.
