Ethereum устанавливает новый рекорд: 2,2 млн транзакций за сутки на фоне рекордно низких сборов Headline: Ethereum Sets New Record: 2.2 Million Transactions in a Day Amid Historically Low Fees

The second-largest cryptocurrency network by market capitalization has set a new milestone: 2.2 million transactions processed in a single day.

Transaction costs on Ethereum have dropped to historical lows ($0.17), down from peak levels in 2022 (over $200).

Thanks to a series of blockchain updates, fees for transactions continue to decline. A significant factor in this change was the shift to the Proof-of-Stake model and the implementation of a fee-burning mechanism under EIP-1559.

The decrease in transaction fees was further supported by upgrades such as Pectra and Fusaka, rolled out in 2025. The first upgrade optimized validator infrastructure and enhanced the flexibility of staking, while the second increased the base network capacity by 33%, raising the gas limit from 45 to 60 million per block.

This technical efficiency has drawn investors’ interest: analysts from Artemis identified Ethereum as the year’s leader in net capital inflows, totaling $4.2 billion.

In the fourth quarter, the number of new smart contracts on Ethereum hit an all-time high of 8.7 million, according to Token Terminal.

Analysts linked this increase to organic growth in three areas: RWA, stablecoin activity, and improvements in basic infrastructure.

“Ethereum is quietly becoming a global settlement layer,” experts emphasized.

The second-largest cryptocurrency network maintains its lead in the tokenization segment, representing $12 billion out of the total sector value of $19 billion.

Ethereum also holds the top position in the stablecoin market. According to DeFi Llama, the ecosystem’s share of the total circulating stablecoin volume exceeds $167 billion.

As a reminder, at the end of December, the queue for Ethereum staking doubled compared to withdrawal requests.
