Escalating Tensions: Russia Denounces U.S. Attacks on Irans Nuclear Sites

On Sunday, Russia expressed its strong disapproval of the United States’ bombings of nuclear facilities in Iran, labeling the assaults as «irresponsible» and a «serious breach of international law.»

The Russian Foreign Ministry remarked in a statement that it has become evident that a perilous escalation is underway, posing risks to both regional and global security.

The U.S. targeted three nuclear sites in Iran on Sunday, escalating its involvement in a bombing campaign that had previously been led by Israel, stirring days of speculation about American participation in the conflict.

«In a decisive blow, Iran’s primary nuclear enrichment sites have been entirely destroyed. Iran, the aggressor in the Middle East, must now pursue peace,» President Donald Trump stated in his address following the airstrikes.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, condemned the U.S. actions as «appalling,» asserting that his nation has the right to protect its sovereignty.

«The incidents this morning are shocking and will have lasting repercussions,» he posted on social media, characterizing the strikes as «unlawful and criminal» acts.

Araghchi went on to say that the United States and Israel had crossed «a significant red line» with these attacks and announced that he would travel to Moscow later that day for discussions with President Vladimir Putin.
