Elon Musks Controversial Plan to Rewrite Human Knowledge for AI Training Sparks Expert Warnings

Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI plans to rewrite «all human knowledge» to train a new version of the chat bot Grok.

«We’re utilizing Grok 3.5 (which might as well be called 4) with enhanced capabilities to rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge, adding missing information and correcting errors,» Musk stated.

The system will then undergo retraining based on this updated information. Musk believes there is currently «too much garbage in any base model trained on unfiltered data.»

This decision has drawn criticism from various quarters. AI specialist Gary Marcus likened Musk’s plan to a dystopia.

«Straight out of ‘1984’. You couldn’t get Grok to align with your personal beliefs, so you’re planning to rewrite history to fit your views,» he remarked.

Bernardino Sassoli de Bianchi, a professor of logic and philosophy of science at the University of Milan, described the decision as dangerous.

«This goes far beyond technological risk and enters the realm of epistemic manipulation. When powerful billionaires perceive history as malleable simply because the outcomes don’t align with their beliefs, we are dealing not with innovation, but with control over the narrative. Rewriting educational data to fit an ideology is wrong on every conceivable level,» the expert noted.

It should be recalled that in May, due to «unauthorized prompt modification,» Grok unexpectedly brought up the topic of «genocide of whites» in South Africa without any user input.
