Doubts Arise Over Developer Zerebros Alleged Death Amid Controversial Transactions

The community has raised doubts regarding the death of Zerebro developer Jeffy Yu following the emergence of suspicious transactions and the removal of his obituary.

Earlier reports indicated that he took his life during a stream on Pump.fun on May 4, where he was promoting the meme coin Legacoin (LLJEFFY).

Viewers of the broadcast noted inconsistencies: the flash from the «gunshot» did not align with the movement of the pistol, and the sound was added in post-production.

Just hours before the incident, Yu posted a manifesto about Legacoins—tokens which he had committed to never sell.

A letter purportedly sent to an investor on Yu’s behalf is circulating online. In it, the developer describes staging his suicide as the «only way» to escape harassment and threats due to his public profile. He vowed to leave the crypto industry to focus on music.

Yu’s obituary on Legacy.com, where he was referred to as a «Stanford whiz kid» who created the $800 million Zerebro ecosystem, was later taken down.

According to Bubblemaps, Yu’s wallet sold ZEREBRO tokens worth $100,000 and transferred the funds to the address of the LLJEFFY creator.

Legacoin’s market cap has plummeted by 80% to $5 million, as reported by DEX Screener.

It should be noted that in January, the mother of the deceased former OpenAI employee Suchira Balaji questioned the circumstances surrounding his alleged suicide. Purmima Ramarao believed her son was not predisposed to taking his own life.
