Double by Alexander Barabanov Secures Victory for Ak Bars Against Avtomobilist

In Kazan, at the Tatneft Arena, another match of the regular season of the Kontinental Hockey League took place, where the local Ak Bars faced off against Yekaterinburg’s Avtomobilist. The hard-fought game concluded with a 3:1 victory for the home team.

Defender Nikita Lyamkin opened the scoring for Ak Bars at the start of the second period, assisted by Eric O’Dell and Alexander Barabanov. This goal enabled Lyamkin to set a new club record for KHL scoring by a defenseman in a single regular season. Later, in the middle of the third period, Alexander Barabanov netted the second goal of the game. Just 20 seconds later, Avtomobilist reduced the deficit with a goal from Nick Merkley. In the dying moments of the match, Barabanov sealed his double by scoring into an empty net.
